Watch the video about creating and making the costumes for "Seed of a Nation"

Seed of a Nation

Lancaster and Penn's Holy Experiment

Looking for pre-colonial theatrical costumes? This show opened in July 2008 and was created to become a regional tourist attraction. Sweeping in scope, the play tells the story of the original settlers to Pennsylvania leading up to the Declaration of Independence. The play has 36 actors playing 240 rolls.

Janell Berté and LOOKING4COSTUMES designed, created and assembled over 1,000 historically accurate costume pieces for the show. Extensive research was required to bring the costumes for this show to life. LOOKING4COSTUMES has a costume library of over 200 volumes... many rare and out of print.
